[Cooper has done his reading. He always does his reading, even when shit goes crazy. Or especially when shit goes crazy. Which is why you, bargians, will not be getting his name for a good long while.] Guess federal prisons just weren't doing the trick. Is anybody actually qualified to be on this boat? You'd think this would be a best of the best service, but I guess that's a little too much to ask for. Out in the middle of space.

I'm starting to think making that deal wasn't worth it. God knows how you people survive with this kind of disorganization.

Rank and occupational specialty?

[Narvin suspects that even for humans that probably means either Intelligence or Special Ops. But at the moment, he rather likes Cooper Brown and in the little bitty corner in the back of his mind still wonders if this is a regenerated Kay and so will not press the issue. Besides, Brown sounds like the sort of guy who, when he says classified, he means it, and probably wouldn't be convinced to give up more information without some major psychic manipulation or a mindprobe.]

I see.

Well, welcome to the Barge. We could use more professionals.

Of course I have one.

Not usually. But more to the point, you didn't ask the right question. [But Narvin's not feeling as bitchy as he sometimes is, and he does think that Brown has the potential to be a good colleague, so he relents.]

It's Narvin.

[People often want to do that when interacting with Narvin.]

When are you from?

[That's around Kay's time, which further complicates the "Kay regeneration" theory...so Narvin is further convinced that this is just one of those meaningless coincidences that the universe sometimes throws out. 2010 also implies a relatively primitive human. They don't even have the technology to travel outside their own solar system yet. How annoying.]

So your experience is limited to humans.

[Unless he were part of UNIT or Torchwood or MiB or whatever his universe's equivalent was and was keeping quiet about it.]
