I need a med team...or whoever you send to take care of bodies, here. Sveta's dead. It should be over.

[He clicks off the video, but a few minutes later clicks it back on.]

I could use some medical attention, too. [No way is he proclaiming to the barge at large that he shot himself in the foot, but...he did just that. Off goes the video again.]

Yes or no questions, Cooper. Did you check to see if a magical collaborative effort had been waged to dispel the curse? Let me guess. No. When she was requesting death, did you suggest alternative means like self-infliction or have her request a weapon to do so from someone? Let me guess. No. [Oh god, he's so pissed. It doesn't help that he's still a touch yellow, and he's coming down from a drug high.] Did I not tell you that Howie himself was trying to wage anti-weapons policies, and through acting irresponsibly you were going to make things a whole damn lot more difficult?

I can't believe you're buying into his bullshit. He's in love with her, of course hew as pitching a fit, and one man's stance on gun control doesn't have to be mine. You wanted me to make choices, Kay, and I did.

[He yanks the gun out angrily, but he's careful to hold it end down, butt held out toward Kay.] People were dying and getting hurt because she was acting like a fucking child. [His fist clenches in the sheets under him at that.] She couldn't handle her shit, so she made everyone pay for it, and she isn't the first person I've killed for doing that.

[He practically shoves the gun at Kay.] So fuck you. I was trying to help.

[Aaand he stands now, a little unsteady with his weight on one foot, and tries to push past Kay.]

I'm not buying into this bullshit, I'm being practical. [He snatches the gun away and this time starts disassembling it. And no, he's not going to let him walk away from this.]

And this wasn't Dionysus. You had alternatives. You wantonly refused to look into them because shooting her was easier at the moment. So instead, you threw in a whole shitload of long term problems. "Trying to help" and "I didn't enjoy doing it", don't cut it. It was a bad call.

[Cooper actually grabs at Kay's jacket for that - mostly because he's really angry, but partly because the balance helps.] It was the fastest solution. You're not dying, I haven't shot myself in the balls, and she'll be alive again. It was the fastest solution when we needed a fast solution. If you want to make the calls, then make the fucking calls, but don't punish me for doing exactly what you wanted me to do.

[And Kay is unfazed by the jacket grab... because balance is better than trying to catch Cooper.] No, it was the solution you could act on! I hope it gave you a little bit of control over a situation you were scared of, because it didn't get you any closer to home.

[He does, in fact, raise his fist at that, and his arm is trembling just a little with the effort not to just punch his nose across his face. Instead, Cooper throws down his arm and snarls, pushing away from Kay to head for the infirmary door. He'd like to throw a lot of curses his warden's way, but he swallows all of them instead, too furious to talk.]
